Angry Doctor 100km MTB 2008 PDF Print E-mail

It was time to get back on the bike for another epic - the 2008 Angry Doctor 100km MTB race.   The race was on the 7th Sept, and hosted in the little town of Mogo, just out of Batemans Bay.  This is well known as one of the best but toughest events in the 100km MTB calendar, but Bryan and I again convinced ourselves we were ready for another challenge .... we latter spent about 80 of the 100km being told otherwise by a very Angry Doctor.

BMC Working Week - Round 4 - Killingworth PDF Print E-mail

My racing buddie (Bryan) and I took on the Killingworth MTB track yesterday for round 4 of the BMC Working Week series.  The race is basically cutting laps around a 10km mountain bike loop for 8 hours - the most laps in the lowest time wins.  Bryan and I were in a pairs category where it works like a relay.

It was a chilly morning getting up and out to Killingworth (just out of Newcastle) but the sky was clear and things were looking good for a day of MTB action.

I thought this photo of Carly and her besty (Sienna) should get a special mention - given they are looking so "special".

(Carly seems to have her mothers fashion sense. Laughing)

 Special girls

We had long been looking forward to our escape to Fiji and the trip away didn't disappoint. There was plenty of sun, pool and beach action, eating out and even a few cocktails for mum and dad.

Mothers Day 2008 PDF Print E-mail

The day started early and thankfully for me the Man of the House responded to the two alarms that activate each morning (Alarm No. 1: Piper and Alarm No. 2: Carly). Bless Nala, she doesn't even try to get our attention in the morning. She just takes what she can get which is generally left over toast from the girls. Breakfast No. 1: freshly baked croissants from the local bakery and J's expresso coffee (yum). Breakfast No. 2: bacon and egg rolls (cooked by J) at the local park. The highlight of the day (besides the lovely gifts from my family) was moving the girls toys in the "playroom" (formerly known as the Poolroom) and recovering the lounge room - hooray!!! Sorry that you've lost your pool table, J. Carly, Daddy and Lucy (from across the road) were playing hide and seek this evening. Too cute. Carly laid down on the floor in the doorway of her bedroom, with her head in her arms, to hide. I nearly wet my pants laughing. She is still at the stage "if I can't see you then you can't see me" Of course, Lucy who is aged 9, didn't understand and promptly moved Carly from her hiding place.

Carly has reached a new milestone in respect of her drawing ability. She likes to draw pictures of her family. In addition to our head and legs, we now have two eyes and a mouth - nice. Carly is adorable with her sister. She responds to her cries and pacifies her. I'm so proud of her.

Piper is thriving like crazy. She has cut her fourth tooth. I can't wait to see her smile in a couple of weeks. She currently has her two bottom teeth and her two eye teeth - hmmmmm. Interesting smile. Lucky she is gorgeous. Piper adores her sister and gives her the most wonderful smiles whenever she comes within her sights. Nala, however, just makes her laugh.

That'll do for now........insights from a crazy woman.
